Nick Walsh

I was raised in Northern Virginia outside our nation’s capital. I met my lovely wife, Sandi, in Springfield, Virginia where we lived and worked. During this time, I had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for the community we lived in and purchased our first home. After our children were born, we made the intentional choice to move to Huntersville in 1993 because we thought it would be an ideal place to raise a family.

For the past 30 years, Sandi and I have proudly called Huntersville home. We were residents of the Wynfield neighborhood for about 20 years where I was active in serving on the HOA for three years, the last two as President. Once our children went off to college and careers, we decided to move to the Vermillion community and now enjoy being on the east side of Huntersville within walking distance to the downtown area.

Our town has much to offer, but we need more people on our board who will put the people and town first. My goal, driven by my passion for Huntersville, is to continue creating an environment where residents can live, work, relax and feel at home.

The town offers some exceptional resources for citizens to inform themselves about the processes and departments in our town government. I attended the “Huntersville 101” course as well as the Huntersville Citizens Police Academy to educate myself on the history of Huntersville and how it operates. This helped me better understand how current events and issues affect the town. I served as the vice-chairman of the Huntersville Ordinance Advisory Board. This board is focused on reviewing, evaluating, and recommending amendments to the Zoning & Subdivision Ordinances. I also served as a volunteer at the Huntersville Police Department.

I was elected in 2017 as a Huntersville Town Commissioner and served until 2021. I worked diligently to represent and be a voice for all our citizens.

As a town representative, I have served on the following: Huntersville Regional Chamber of Commerce, Visit Lake Norman Board, Centralina Regional Council, Greenways Trails & Bikeway Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Public Art Commission, Planning Coordinating Committee, and Communications Liaison.

I am retired from a career in technology sales holding multiple management positions. Most of my career has entailed working with businesses and executives to create win/win solutions that focus on client needs, contracts, and achieving business objectives. I bring this experience to our town board to help make Huntersville a great place to live, work, and visit.
